Pre-Departure Orientation
Once you receive your Visa, you shall be assisted regarding housing & other requirements to make your landing smooth in India and your stay in Indore, India while you study at Artemisia College a wonderful experience.
1. You must plan to reach Artemisia College at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India by first week of July. Classes will start by 15 July 2019. One does not have to register for classes before reaching the College.
2. Complimentary Airport Pick-Up : We provide complimentary pick up to our all new international students. If you wish to avail of this service, please email us your arrival information such as your date & time of arrival & Flight details atleast 4 working days before your arrival.
3. Obtaining your FRRO : The first thing you need to do after reaching Indore is to obtain your FRRO with the help of International Students Office. It is mandatory for all foreign students to register themselves with local FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Officer), within 14 days of their arrival in India (arrival date mentioned on Visa). From the 15th day late registration fee will be charged by FRRO Office. However, Pakistan nationals are required to register within 24 hours of their arrival. Student has to register him/her self by using the link https://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/ (Copy the link & paste in the search bar of your search engine.
4. Winter Break is from 23 December 2019 to 5 January 2020. Classes resume from 6 January 2020. Summer Break usually starts from 2nd or 3rd week of May and sometimes by First week of June (exact dates will be decided later).
5. The academic year runs on an Annual pattern with Final examinations being held in April / May every year.
6. Weather – May & June are quite hot with temperatures rising to 42-44 degree centigrade. Winters are mild with temperature not going below 8-10 degree centigrade.
7. With excellent public transportation as well as availability of College bus, students are not required to own a vehicle. However, if one wants to purchase a bike / car, etc. the ISO will assist the student in doing so.
8. Indore has large number of hospitals, clinics including national level hospital chains such as Medanta, Bombay Hospital, etc. Excellent medical facilities are available at very reasonable costs. The ISO staff assists international students in all kind of medical emergencies.
9. Since Indore is a home to large number of students, living & eating in Indore is fairly cheap and high-quality. Home to large number of restaurants offering all kind of Indian & international cuisine, Clubs, recreational facilities, Indore offers excellent night-life as well as huge opportunities for the youth.
10. Indore is a friendly cosmopolitan city with excellent air, train & road connectivity to all major cities of India.
11. Excellent gymnasium memberships are available at very reasonable prices.
12. There are several Malls & Shopping centers, where one can buy all kind of merchandise, clothes, food, etc. at sale prices. You shall be able to buy majority of the international brands at Indore itself.
